Fire burns Blackfoot home

American Red Cross volunteers are helping two families affected by a house fire at 175 McAdoo in Blackfoot.

Blackfoot Fire Department Capt. Dave Krumenacher said the fire broke out in the kitchen area of the home around 2 p.m. Monday. No one was home and no one was injured.

He said the fire caused about $50,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Red Cross said Tuesday that it was providing four adults and one child with funds for food, clothing and shoes. Two affected families were being provided with a two nights’ stay in a local motel.
