Grand prize announced for duck race

Organizers are getting ready for the 25th annual Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race.

The Idaho Falls Rotary Club kicked off the event Wednesday. The duck race will be held on Aug. 8 on the Idaho Falls greenbelt.

Broadway Ford presented the grand prize Wednesday, a 2015 F-150 XLT crew cab pickup truck.

Idaho Falls Rotary Club President Russell Johnson is grateful for sponsors like Broadway Ford.

“We’re so grateful and appreciative of all of the things that they’ve done over the past few years to help the rotary club.raise money for our duck race,” said Johnson. “We have over seven and a half miles now of greenbelt that we’ve been able to restore in partnership with the City of Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation, and on behalf of the Rotary Club of Idaho Falls, we just like to thank all those who participate.”

Duck adoption will begin around June 15.
