Tribal business chairman voted out of office

Sho-Ban Tribal business chairman Nathan Small was voted out of office by Tribal voters May 29th. The election results were ratified Tuesday by the Fort Hall Business Council.

Voters also approved an amendment to the Tribal Beverage Ordinance. The amendment would allow the sale of liquor at the new Sho-Ban casino and event center, but not on other tribal lands.

Four council positions were filled and the top four vote-getters elected. The top four candidates were new council member Marcus Coby (547 votes), incumbent Darrell Dixey (349 votes), incumbent Lee Juan Tyler (346 votes), and new council member Donna Bollinger (338 votes). Small came in at 5th place with 314 votes.

The four winners will be sworn-in June 9th at 9 a.m. in the Tribal Business Chambers. The council will then elect new officers.
