Pocatello/Chubbuck kids learn about safety

Pocatello’s police and fire departments came together to teach kids about safety at O.K. Ward Park Wednesday.

Pocatello Police Cpl. Anthony Busch had the idea to bring the two together, since both department have similar youth programming.

As police and firemen were talking to kids about personal and fire safety, a fire engine was giving kids a fun way to cool off.

Busch said these events help kids see authority in a different light.

“They can see that we’re not just this guy sitting in a car, driving around. We’re people, too,” said Busch.

Busch said events like this will likely be held throughout the summer.
