Tayt’s heart transplant successful

Tayt Andersen is recovering after a successful heart transplant.

On Monday, we told you the 9-year-old from Rigby finally got the call that a donor heart was ready for him.

Tuesday night, doctors at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City performed the surgery.

His family said via Facebook that the transplant went smoothly. Tayt is out of the children’s ICU and off bypass.

The Andersen family says they are so grateful to the family that gave Tayt the ultimate gift.

Tayt, who was born with half a heart, has had support from the community and appeared on “Ellen.”
