Wizarding to geekery, Dynamic Alley’s got you covered

Melanie Hansen says she created Dynamic Alley to meet the demand for wands and other items sought out by people enthralled with wizarding and geekery. Hansen got involved with making her own wizard wands when her daughters went to a Harry Potter themed Halloween party.

Hansen said once she created her first wand she kept on designing more. Most of her clients are from all across the United States.

Her wands, which range from $5 to $20, are all handmade. Her style designs range from traditional wood wands to steal punk-styled wands.

“I have hand sculpted ones made out of polymer clay. I’ve used snake skin on my items, to give them character,” Hansen said.

Hansen recently showcased her work at the Rexburg Heritage Festival and said she’s looking forward to getting her wands out there.

“Party favor wands are my top selling items, I sell them throughout the year. I’ve done wands for Comic -Con too,” Hansen said.

Hansen has been selling her magical items on etsy.com for years.

“I’ve done wands for weddings, and center pieces for a Harry Potter themed baby shower. I’ve done 100 wands for a charity event in Portland, Oregon,” Hansen said.

She added,”People ask what I do? And I tell them I make wands.”
