The Eastern Idaho HBA hosts a build day for Sleep in Heavenly Peace

The Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association is hosting a Build Day for Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for children in Idaho Falls.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a charity which builds and donates beds to kids who are sleeping on the floor. Members of the Home Builders Association say they wanted to make a difference. Back in January, they held a banquet, where they were able to raise money by auctioning off table centerpieces. They gathered $7,500. It costs around $175 to make each bed. A group of volunteers worked all day Friday and Saturday to help build 40 beds for children in the community.
According to the East Idaho HBA, there are over 600 children in eastern Idaho who are in need of beds. Four hundred of those children are in Idaho Falls. The HBA wants the community to know that these children need our help. Executive Officer for the Eastern Idaho Home Builders Association
Nadene Michaelson said, “I think the biggest thing they should be aware
of is that there are so many kids without beds here, and we can make a difference just one bed at a time.” The Eastern Idaho HBA would like to thank Skidmore Inc. in Idaho Falls for donating their space as a short-term workshop to allow their team to build beds. The Eastern Idaho HBA is excited to take part in the charity and hopes to encourage others to do the same. They plan to do I again next year and hope that these beds will make a difference in a child’s
life.
