Elva Street sidewalk construction underway
Construction began Monday on a sidewalk improvement project on Elva Street between Holmes and Wabash.
The project will include removal and replacement of existing sidewalk, curb, and ADA ramps.
Construction will leave one lane of traffic open in each direction. Pedestrian detours are being set up during different phases of the project and all local businesses in the area should be accessible while the project is underway.
Contractors expect the project to take about a month to complete.
