KIFI

The Humane Society of Utah has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to those responsible for fatally shooting cattle in multiple counties.

Box Elder, Iron and Utah County authorities are seeking information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the shootings.

The Humane Society stated in a press release that the reward is meant to assist county sheriff departments.

Department officials say intentional killing of cattle is an act of animal cruelty and is a great loss to the owners.

Utah cattle and agricultural officials say the killings occurred during the past few weeks.

Authorities have not yet confirmed if the cases are related.

Authorities say anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to contact county deputies.
