Multiple structures up in flames in Fort Hall blaze

FORT HALL, Idaho (KIFI) – A fire has consumed multiple structures in the Fort Hall Reservation along Hawthorne Road.

According to Sho-Ban News, the blaze ignited between Cemetery and Edmo Road.

The fire spread quickly in a grass field, damaging approximately 50 vehicles, two pole barns, two single-wide trailer homes and an estimated 10 to 20 pieces of miscellaneous farm equipment and tractors.

According to a press release by Shoshone Bannoch, the trailer homes appear to have been unoccupied.

Local News 8 has reached out to Shoshone-Bannock officials and will update this story throughout the night as additional information is received.

Several agencies assisted with the response, including North Bannock Fire, Chubbuck Fire, Pocatello Fire, Blackfoot Fire and the U.S. Wildland Fire Service.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and will remain under investigation.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to safely complete their work.
