Labor Day Forecast: Clear skies and breezy winds

Happy Labor Day! Partial sunny skies are expected across Eastern Idaho and and Western Wyoming, with portions of the Central Mountains and Eastern Highlands experiencing small pockets of thunderstorm activity later this Monday evening. The majority of the wet weather we are tracking will be exiting the region entirely, meaning the week ahead should be fairly dry.

The holiday will start off sunny and windy, with breezes across the Snake River Plain picking up into the 20 mph wind range. As Monday continues, temperatures will climb steadily into the upper 60s, with a minor cold front today presenting below average temperatures. There will be a warming and drying trend this week, however, as high pressure from the Southeast moves in and creates a dome of steady conditions. Low humidity is expected this Monday for the majority of Eastern Idaho and Western Wymoing, as winds will remain breezy throughout the day.

Expect Tuesday's forecast to appear very similar to today's, with clear skies and alot of sunshine. Wet weather will continue to sweep through the northern region Idaho towards the Montana divide, but temperatures will be on the rise back into the mid-80s, with Southwest winds at 18 to 23 miles per hour.

The majority of the region will have a very clear radar and dry conditions by Wednesday with temperatures jumping back into the upper 70s. By Thursday, expect a small return to humidity combined with breezy wind conditions. Critical fire weather conditions and watches could come into effect as a result of this. Gusty winds continue through to Friday's forecast, calling for a windy week ahead.
