POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Idaho State University and Brigham Young University Idaho have released COVID-19 updates.

COVID-19 cases dropped this week at Idaho State University to 68 new cases.

Last week, the university had 69.

The campus website "Roaring Back" is now using a new dashboard. It allows students to access graphs showing the current infection rate.

This week, clusters were identified in the College of Technology, the College of Health and the Athletics Department.

Healthcare workers are also investigating a cluster of cases at the Early Learning Center in Idaho Falls.

Contact tracers at BYU-Idaho report 111 active cases in the student body and 17 more among employees.

The university recently sent out an alert about reports of students holding COVID-19 parties in order to catch the virus and be paid more for their donated plasma with antibodies.

The university said Monday it was "deeply troubled by accounts of individuals who have intentionally exposed themselves" to the disease in order to make some money.

The university warned any students caught intentionally getting infected could be suspended or expelled.

"Students who are determined to have intentionally exposed themselves or others to the virus will be immediately suspended from the university and may be permanently dismissed," the school's statement said.

The university said it is looking for students who might have been involved, though the statement did not indicate whether any did come down with the disease.
