Police surround a home on 7th and Fanning in Idaho Falls Tuesday evening.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 7:23 P.M. 2/18/20: Idaho Falls Police have taken a man into custody following a standoff near Idaho Falls High School.

According to Idaho Falls Police Public Information Officer Jessica Clements, a domestic issue started near Ashment avenue behind the College of Eastern Idaho.

It is still not clear what lead the man to 7th Street.

After negotiating with the suspect he came out without issue and was taken into custody.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police are at home near Idaho Falls High School with guns drawn and were urging people to come out.

They have blocked off the streets around 7th and Fanning streets.

One person came out of the garage, and it's unknown if others are inside the home.
