JACKSON, Wyo. (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 12:00 p.m.: Jackson Hole Fire/EMS reports about a dozen guests were evacuated from the Rusty Parrot Lodge without injury after fire broke out on an exterior deck. The fire then moved into the building and quickly spread into the attic.

Fire Marshal Kathy Clay said she expects to have an investigation completed by the end of the week. "The fire began on the upper exterior deck," said Clay. "It appears that a covering, for an exterior sitting bench, ignited from the nearby gas fireplaces."

"This fire got interior quickly and spread through the attic space," commented Incident Commander Jim Tucker. "The availability of hydrants and plenty of water from the town water allowed crews to get this fire out before the surrounding structures were threatened."

One firefighter received a minor injury, was treated and released from St. John's Hospital.

A drone was deployed to help firefighters and for investigation purposes.
