GREENVILLE, N.C. — Vance Jackson made a layup with 1:44 left to give East Carolina the lead en route to a 68-67 win over Southern Miss on Tuesday. Tristen Newton had 22 points to lead the Pirates. Jaron Pierre Jr. led the Golden Eagles with a season-high 20 points.
