SAN DIEGO (AP) — Austin and Aaron Nola are each other’s biggest fans. Unless their teams are playing each other. That happened in Game 2 of the National League Championship Series. Aaron started on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies and faced his 32-year-old brother, San Diego Padres catcher Austin. Aaron, who is 3 1/2 years younger, tagged along to all of Austin’s games when the brothers were growing up in Louisiana. Austin grounded out in his first at-bat against Aaron. Then in the fifth, Austin hit an RBI single as part of the Padres’ five-run inning that gave them a 7-4 lead. San Diego went on to win 8-5 and tie the series at a game apiece. It was the first sibling pitcher-batter matchup in postseason history.
