Al’s Sporting Goods to set up shop in Idaho Falls
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - A Logan, Utah-based sporting goods retailer will build its third store at 2395 East 17th Street in Idaho Falls, the former Toys R Us building.
Al's Sporting Goods will move into the 30,000 square foot building, with an anticipated opening date of September 2020.
"For decades we have been looking for the golden opportunity in Idaho Falls and we finally found it," said Kris Larsen, CEO of Al's Sporting Goods and third-generation family member. "We have many friends and longtime customers from southeastern Idaho. When this opportunity arose, we jumped on it quickly."
The family-owned retailer has been operating in Logan for nearly a century. Al's opened its second location in Orem, Utah at University Place about 3 years ago.
"Our friends in Bonneville County will quickly learn that at Al's Sporting Goods we sell the best brands, we offer an enormous selection, we are passionate about customer service, and our sales promotions and events are out of this world," said Jason Larsen, President of Al's Sporting Goods.
The store was founded in 1921 by Alvin Moroni Larsen as a cycling and fishing shop. It has developed into the oldest full-line sporting goods retailer in the state of Utah.
