Farmers Markets open for the season

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - Saturday was opening day for Farmers Markets across the area.

People all through the region took advantage of the nice weather to get out and support local artists and growers.

More than a thousand people flocked to the Portneuf Valley Farmers Market in Historic Downtown Pocatello.

You could find anything from delicious food to plants to grow in your garden as well as unique crafts.

There were fun activities for the kids as well.

The vendors say these Farmers Markets are a great way to keep the business and the money right here in our community.

Idaho Falls also opened up its 3 Season Farmers Market.

The open air market is asking people to distance and take precautions as some booths get pretty crowded.

It runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine, and we will be able to enjoy the changing offerings through October 3.
