Bomb Squad Destroys Suspicious Bag At Coffee Shop

A bomb squad has detonated a bag of guns left behind by a man acting suspiciously at a Salt Lake City coffee shop’s open mic night.

Police say the man came to Alchemy Coffee Tuesday night dressed in full camouflage. They say he told people at the cafe that he was well-armed and a Green Beret.

KSL reports employees grew suspicious when the man offered them money to guard the bag for him.

Police say employees convinced the man to leave, but were alarmed the bag was left in the parking lot.

A bomb squad destroyed the bag early Wednesday morning. Salt Lake City Police Lt. Craig Gleason says officials found ammunition, several guns and a rifle sight in the bag.

Authorities are now trying to locate the man.
