Bannock Development Corp. Announces New Director
Bannock Development Corporation announced its new executive director Thursday.
John Regetz comes from Michigan City, Indiana, where he worked as executive director for the Michigan City Economic Development Corporation and co-director for the La Porte County Economic Development Alliance. According to a news release, Regetz brings 25 years of experience. He has held other economic development management positions in Illinois, Wisconsin and South Dakota.
The former BDC executive director, Gynii Gilliam, become chief economic development officer for the state of Idaho.
?He brings a great deal of experience, additional perspectives and a broad set of new contacts to our efforts,? said Tim Forhan, chairman of the Bannock Development Board of Directors. ?His years of both community and regional economic development experience are a great fit for our needs. It was a pleasure to see the immediate chemistry John developed with the people he met when he visited.?
?Gynii Gilliam?s skills have created an excellent organization and it is my goal to build upon her economic development accomplishments through attracting new businesses and growing existing businesses,? said Regetz. ?Bannock Development?s volunteer leadership is as talented as any I have seen in the nation and I am very excited about the resources Idaho State University and the Idaho National Laboratory offer as economic development partners in the community.?
Regetz is expected to begin work March 19. Darlene Gerry is the interim director.
BDC?s primary mission is to help create jobs and diversify the economy of the greater Pocatello/Chubbuck region and Bannock County through business retention, expansion and relocation, the organization said.
