2 Arrested For Impersonating Police Officers

Two Horseshoe Bend residents suspected of impersonating police officers and pulling over vehicles along Highway 55 have been arrested after a police chase.

Boise County Chief Deputy Dale Rogers says the suspects used a Toyota pickup truck outfitted with flashing lights to pull over three vehicles early Monday.

A man from Washington state reported he was attacked by the two when he stopped and forced off the road after he drove away.

An Idaho State Police trooper was nearby when another vehicle was stopped and the trooper pursued the truck, which was registered to 21-year-old Lloyd Asher.

Asher was jailed on suspicion of impersonating an officer, battery, eluding police and possession of a firearm while under the influence.

A 17-year-old boy faces the same charges along with driving under the influence.
