Occupy Pocatello Must Vacate Park By Monday

At 5 p.m. on Monday, the Occupy Pocatello group has to vacate its current spot at the corner of Oak Street and Yellowstone Avenue, or else it will get kicked out by the police.

Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter signed the Occupy bill into law that prohibits camping on state property, and Occupy Pocatello just happens to be on state ground, too.

Capt. Eric Dayley with the Idaho State Police said he has notified the group that it has to leave by that time. If it doesn’t, Dayley said the protesters will be given a citation and any property it leaves behind will be confiscated and held for 90 days.

The Occupy Pocatello protestors have been preparing for the bill to pass. They said they’ll be looking for a new spot to set up camp.
