Junior High Principal Charged With Sexual Abuse Resigns
The Snake River Junior High School principal facing allegations he sexually abused a former student has resigned.
Christopher Cox, 38, is charged with three counts of sexual abuse against a minor under the age of 16. He appeared in court Feb. 16 to be arraigned on those charges.
Cox had been placed on administrative leave.
The Snake River District said Vice Principal Ray Carter will be the school?s new principal.
The board accepted his resignation Wednesday.
“From the district’s perspective, it is probably the best thing for him to resign so we can start going forward. It actually helps us get started on getting a new start there at the junior high,” said district superintendent Russell Hammond.
