Animal Activist Finds Animal Carcasses Outside Home
An outspoken animal activist made a gruesome discovery, waking up to five dead animals on her driveway.
That woman believes she’s a victim of a deliberate act, and has the local sheriff’s office investigating.
Local animal advocate Andi Elliott is used to dealing with animals. However, what she saw at her home Friday morning is out of the ordinary. Elliott says she found four dead rabbits and a dead porcupine on her driveway in Hamer.
The animals all had gunshot wounds, and one had its throat slit.
“Somebody went through a lot of trouble to shoot those poor animals and bring them to my home and do what they did,” Elliott said.
Elliott, has ruffled feathers in the past and quite possibly made enemies through her work as an animal activist, believes this incident was one of intimidation.
“I knew somebody was trying to send me a message,” Elliott said. “Definitely, I felt like someone was trying to intimidate me.”
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a complaint has been filed and the incident is under investigation. They say they were unable to find any evidence that could lead to an arrest.
Elliott is offering a reward to anyone who may have information on this incident.
