Man Accused Of Firing At Police Close To Possible Plea Deal
The man police say fired a rifle at a patrol car after leading officers on a chase through Idaho Falls was back in court today, this time for a short appearance.
Scott Parker’s attorney said his client is in negotiations with the state to reach a plea agreement.
He said Parker had some decisions to make and requested change-of-plea hearing to be scheduled in a few weeks. Parker pleaded not guilty Jan 20. to all six counts against him.
Police encountered Parker Oct. 14 after receiving a call that he was threatening suicide.
Police say Parker escaped in a vehicle and that during the chase, Parker fired a rifle at them, hitting a patrol car. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of eluding police.
