Plea Deal Reached For Man Charged With Harboring Stabbing Suspect

Alexis Gonzales, who is charged with harboring Joseph Chavez, the suspect in the Christmas Day stabbing death of 20- year-old Buck Garner, was in court Monday and may have reached a plea deal.

His attorney, however, was not, though he was reached by Judge Dane Watkins Jr. by speaker phone.

Gonzales, 18, expressed to the court he would rather reschedule for next week, than proceed with counsel over the phone.

His attorney indicated a plea deal had been reached, and will be discussed in front of Watkins next week. Gonzales is one of seven defendants all facing varying degrees of charges related to the same killing on Dec. 25 of last year.
