29 Sandpoint High Seniors Punished For Prank That Involved Urination

Twenty-nine Sandpoint High School students got one final lesson before graduation – you’ll pay for a senior class prank that damages the school.

Sandpoint Police Chief Mark Lockwood tells The Spokesman-Review the students took a counselor’s keys and entered the building about a week ago. Surveillance video revealed they urinated in the school, put Vaseline on door knobs and wrote messages on windows and doors using washable ink.

Superintendent Dick Cvitanich said he met with the principal and the students Wednesday and is satisfied the students are taking responsibility for their actions.

They have to complete 15 hours of volunteer work to be allowed to walk at their commencement ceremonies. The students also have been asked to pay for nearly $1,000 in damages. No criminal charges have been filed.
