App Helps You Plan Idaho Road Trip

Now you can plan your trips around Idaho with your mobile device.

The Idaho Department of Commerce Division of Tourism has launched a free mobile app version of its Idaho Travel Guide.

The app will offer a multimedia interactive Idaho Travel Guide available on iPad, iPhone, and soon, on Android. It will showcase the state?s scenic beauty, affordable family-friendly destinations and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities in an interactive and engaging format, according to a news release.

The app was built by Boise-based Affinity Amp, in partnership with creative agency Drake Cooper, which has published the print version of the guide for years.

Tourism businesses in Idaho interested in reaching visitors can reserve space within the app at any time, the department said.

?With Affinity Amp?s analytics console, the department and the participating businesses can see what content and offers are engaging users and what is being shared via social media from within the app,? said Karen Ballard, Administrator of the Department of Commerce Division of Tourism.

?The results will help us tailor future messaging and outreach to meet the needs of the visitor,? Ballard added.

The app is available in the iTunes marketplace:

It will be available for on Android via Google Play in June.
