Tattoo shop raises money for autism

It’s world autism awareness day and one local shop is giving back to children who have the disease. Atlas Tattoo in Idaho Falls hoped to create 100 puzzle piece tattoos Tuesday with all of the money going to the autism programs at school districts 91 and 93.

Each puzzle-piece tattoo is dedicated to 35 local children. The tattoos correspond to their names and favorite colors. Co-ownerQuentin Killian says his children who have the disease are what inspired him to get involved.

“Everybody needs to get out and do there our part in the community. You can always wait for somebody to do something like this, or you can take the initiative and do it yourself,” said Killian.

Atlas Tattoo hopes to raise $6,000.

Autism is a disability that affects a person’s social interaction, behavior and communication skills.
