Stabbing suspect arrested after more than week on the run

A Bonneville County man who police said stabbed his son earlier this month is in custody.

Sgt. Jeff Edwards of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says Ron Myers was running from police for about a week and a half.

Deputies and U.S. marshals arrested him at 4:30 p.m. Monday on a felony warrant for aggravated battery.

He was found at 1488 12th St. and was arrested without incident.

The bond on the warrant was set at $500,000.

On Jan. 15, Myers’ son and daughter-in-law were visiting with him. When Myers got a phone call, he became upset. Deputies said he pointed a gun at his daughter-in-law and his son stepped between them. That’s when Myers allegedly pulled a knife and sliced his son’s arm from the elbow to the hand, severing tendons, muscles and arteries.
