SWAT team gets suspect out of house
A man was arrested on multiple felony warrants after a SWAT team found him under a bed Monday night.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Lovejoy around 8 p.m. and found Jeremy O. Johnson, 26, at the home. At first, Johnson came out of the house, but went back inside when police told him to come out.
Police said Johnson tried to get away through the back window, but stayed inside when he saw police. He continued to hide out in the house despite officers trying various ways to coax him out. One of the methods was firing a gas canister into the house, which is likely why neighbors said they heard gunshots, police said.
The Idaho Falls SWAT team was called just after 9 p.m. The team entered the house and found Johnson under a bed. Police said he had methamphetamine and morphine.
Johnson was arrested on six counts of possession of a controlled substance, a Bonneville County warrant for felony escape, and two Bonneville County warrants for felony probation violation. He also faces a charge of resisting arrest.
He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
