Homicide under investigation in Preston

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call for assistance in Preston at 2:09 a.m. Saturday morning.
It was reported that there had been shots fired at a residence at 801 West 800 North and medical assistance was needed. Officers from Preston Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home.
One adult male died at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. One adult male was transported in police custody to the Franklin County Medical Center. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
Names have not yet been released.
