Jefferson superintendent resigns

Jefferson County School District Superintendent Dr. Ron Tolman has announced he will retire from the post at the end of August.Tolman said he accepted a job in the Box Elder County School District in Utah next year, the district announced Thursday.

Tolman has led Jefferson District 251 for the past 10 years.He has overseen numerous construction projects including South Fork Elementary, an addition to Rigby High School, a new central office, and a new Rigby High School building.

Tolman also established a world language-immersion program.

The Jefferson School Board will begin a national search for a replacement immediately.
