Woman sentenced after being shot by Oregon police
An eastern Idaho woman who was shot by police has been sentenced.
Shavon Willard was on the run from drug charges when police found her in Medford, Oregon, in March. She was with Wayne Pearson, who rammed a police vehicle in the confrontation. Officers fired at least 39 rounds, and Willard was hit twice in the chest, once in the arm, once in the leg, and a fragment struck her right eye.
A Bonneville County judge ordered two years fixed with up to five years prison time Thursday after she pleaded guilty to felony possession of meth.
He also recommended her to a rider program, but before that can happen, Willard has to also face pending charges in Jefferson County.
