Gas station in Ammon robbed

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is working with nearby stores, to see if their security camera have any clues as to who robbed the Tesoro gas station at 2523 E. Sunnyside Road in Ammon.

The robbery happened late Saturday night. Police say the suspect came into the store, and told the clerk to put money from the register into a bag. The suspect did not show a weapon or threaten the use of a weapon.

The robber was last seen running behind the Kohl’s store. The Sheriff’s Office said the robber is a man around 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage coat, hat, gloves and a ski mask.

“There really is not any new information at this time. Basically what we are doing is working with a bank nearby and local stores to try and obtain other video footage to see if he maybe, possibly got into a car outside of the area,” says Sgt. Jeff Edwards.

The Sheriff’s Office did give some advice on what to do if you ever find yourself in a similar situation.

“Our biggest advice would be, do whatever the person is demanding money is asking you to do. Do not place your life at risk for a little bit of money,” Edwards said.
