Idaho Falls woman arrested after long pursuit

An Idaho Falls woman led police from various agencies on a series of pursuits covering 133 miles, Idaho State Police said.

Misty L. Prestwich, 28, was initially stopped for speeding on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. ISP said the pursuit was called off for safety reasons at times when Prestwich reached speeds of up to 120 mph. The pursuit ended on westbound I-84 in Jerome County when Prestwich swerved toward a trooper and a sheriff deputy’s patrol cars, lost control of her vehicle, rolled and crashed.

Prestwich was transported to the St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls.

She has since been released and was booked into the Jerome County Jail on charges of felony eluding an officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and two misdemeanor warrants from Ada County.
