Holt Arena hosts Spring Fair
Southeast Idaho’s premier home and garden show kicked off at noon Thursday. The annual Spring Fair has always been a great stop for those needs, but you’ll find more than that this year.
Just ask Clayton Fehringer, who’s selling handmade wooden sunglasses. The business is in Chubbuck and he decided to come to this year’s fair to get his shop’s name around.
“It’s an opportunity to let the community know that we’re here and that we’re trying to make something locally,” he said.
Every year the Spring Fair showcases hundreds of business in the area and beyond. This year there are 200 vendors in total. Although the show is known for things like lawnmowers, weed killers and house cleaning products– this year you can find things like a wiggle bike and even explore multiple insurance options.
There’s even a row of food booths that give the fair a county fair feel.
“While we feature it as a home and garden show, we just have so many other unique products here,” said Bob Bloxham, one of the fair’s organizers. “It’s really a nice event where (people) can come out and bring their family, walk the aisles and enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner.”
The fair’s variety is what Fehringer likes the most.
“You might come and find something you never knew exists, it’s completely unique and you might like it. You might like it and want to see it or at least know about it for the future,” he said.
The fair is open until 9 p.m. Thursday, from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $2, but is free for children under 10 with a paid adult.
