Home prices up in Idaho Falls

Home prices in Idaho Falls increased by 6.5 percent in February of this year compared to February 2014, according to analytics provider CoreLogic.

Larry Pettingill, the president of the Greater Idaho Falls Board of Realtors, said the prices are higher because more people are moving to Idaho.

Pettingill said there are some reasons for that.

“I think it’s because the lifestyle, clean air, friendly people,” he said. “Idaho has friendly people, and it’s just going to get better. … As far as I’m concerned, it’s the greatest kept secret in the world.”

Pettingill said the median price of a house in Idaho Falls is $150,000, which is $10,000 more than the price in January.
