I-15 north of Blackfoot open after crash

On Friday, April 24, just before 4:00 p.m., Idaho State Police were called to an accident on Interstate 15 near the Blackfoot Rest Area.

Jesus Garcia-Moreno of Enumclaw, Washington was driving south in a Nissan Sentra at a low rate of speed.

Brad Ralphs of Rockland, Idaho was behind Garcia-Moreno in a semi hauling potatoes.

Ralphs tried to swerve right to avoid a crash, but hit the rear of Garcia-Moreno’s car.

The car went off the road, the semi overturned on its side, blocking traffic for about three hours.

Garcia-Moreno was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Idaho State Police say both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was involved.

The crash is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
