Clubs stolen from golf course

Golf clubs and money were stolen from Sage Lakes Golf Course sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

Idaho Falls police said officers were called to the golf course on 65 North around 8:20 a.m. Monday after workers discovered a break-in at the pro shop.

Police said the thieves cut wires to the store and broke through the glass doors, causing an unknown amount of damage.

A set of golf clubs valued at $1,800 and a small amount of cash from the register were stolen.

The burglars were stopped after tripping an alarm when breaking into the cafe.

“Well, I think they’re jerks,” said Gaylen Denning, head professional at the golf course. “They need more to do in life than to go steal from people. Bottom line: It’s just wrong. It’s too bad it happens. It seems to happen everywhere. And hopefully we get them caught.”

If you know anything about the burglary, contact police at (208) 529-1200 or Crimestoppers at 522-1983.
