Police seize marijuana, guns in Fort Hall bust

Police from various agencies made a drug bust in Fort Hall earlier this week.

According to a news release from the Shoshone-Bannock tribes, officers from the Fort Hall Police Department and Bureau of Indian Affairs Drug Unit, as well as Bingham County drug investigators and the Blackfoot K-9 unit, served a drug search warrant at the home of tribal member Tony Saiz Sr. on Hiline Road on Wednesday.

Fort Hall Police Chief Patrick Teton said authorities found $8,000 in cash, a half-pound of marijuana, drug scales, 10 rifles and two handguns.

Arrested and taken to Fort Hall Corrections were Tony Saiz Sr., Dana Saiz and Jessica Saiz.

“Charges will be filed in tribal court for endangering the welfare of a minor four counts each, criminal conspiracy, and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance,” said Teton in the news release Friday.

Officials will also forward their reports to the United States Attorney’s Office for consideration for federal prosecution.
