Police: 6 hurt after driver doesn’t stop for red light

Six people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision at U.S. Highway 20 and Old Butte Road on Monday.

Idaho State Police saidKathi Oliver, age 41, of Idaho Falls, was driving a 2012 Toyota Rav4 and was turning left from Old Butte Road onto Highway 20 around 10:15 a.m. Wendy Van Kampen, 43, of Idaho Falls, was driving westbound on the highway in a 2012 GMC van and failed to stop for a red traffic light at the intersection of Old Butte Road, ISP said.

She collided with Oliver’s SUV, causing it to overturn.

Oliver and her five passengers were taken by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Van Kampen was not taken to the hospital.
