Idaho Falls couple dies in Box Elder County accident
An Idaho Falls couple was killed in an accident along Interstate 15 near Plymouth Wednesday afternoon.
The Utah Highway Patrol reports, 84-year-old driver Thora B. Willis and 88-year-old passenger Ronald P. Willis, died from the accident.
The Highway patrol says the KIA SUV was traveling north on I-15 just after 2 p.m. “The vehicle drifted into the median and traveled north for approximately 900 feet without braking or swerving. When the vehicle reached an underpass, it went airborne crashing into the north side of the underpass wall. This caused the vehicle to temporarily flip on its roof then it slid back down to the country road under the freeway.”
Ronald Willis died at the accident.Thora Willis wasextricated from the SUV andtaken to Bear River Valley Hospital where she later died. The Utah Highway Patrol is looking at possible medical issue for the cause.
