Outside group of judges investigate case against Christopher Tapp

The 1996 murder of Angie Dodge rocked Idaho Falls and even grabbed national attention; 19 years later it’s still making headlines.

Since Christopher Tapp was convicted in 1998, various advocacy groups have questioned if he is really guilty.

Tapp confessed to the murder, and some believe he was coerced.

“I said, ‘There’s two things Chris, if you ever lie to me I could be gone, and Chris, the second thing is, if I ever get a feeling that you are guilty, we’re gone. We’re not going to be involved,'” said Judge Michael Heavey (Ret.), co-founder of Judges for Justice. “Each step of the way we become more convinced of the innocence of Chris Tapp.”
