Pocatello-Chubbuck school board seeks to fill vacancy

The Pocatello-Chubbuck School District is accepting nominations from persons interested in serving on the District 25 Board of Trustees.

Trustee Jim Facer did not face competition for his seat in the May school board election. His term expired July 1st.

However, a district spokesperson said Facer had another opportunity that conflicted with his ability to fulfill his school board duties.

The school board formally declared a vacancy at its Tuesday meeting.

Anyone interested in appointment to the Trustee Seat in Zone #3 must be a U.S. Citizen, be 18 years of age and have resided within Trustee Zone #3 for at least 30 days. A Trustee Zone map may be found on the School District’s website.

Those who meet the legal qualifications above should submit a letter of interest or resume, which will serve as their application, to the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25 Education Center at 3115 Pole Line Road. The letter of interest or resume must include: name, address, phone number and an explanation of the reason(s) they would like to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25.

The letter of interest and resume must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015.

The board will begin to interview trustee candidates August 17th and name a replacement August 18th.

You can see the full press release on the district’s website.
