Ashton woman re-appointed to State Board of Education

Emma Atchley of Ashton has been appointed to a second, five-year term on the state Board of Education.

Governor Butch Otter said, “Emma has been a true champion of education in Idaho. Her leadership during the work of the Task Force and her advocacy for our education system will continue to benefit the students, families and communities of our state.”

Atchley, a business woman and potato grower is currently Vice Chair of the Board, having served as Chair last year.

The governor also named Dr. Linda Clark to replace Rod Lewis of Eagle on the eight-member board. Clark is superintendent of the West Ada School District and recently served two years on the Governor’s Task Force for Improving Education.
