Instant horse racing machines officially illegal in Idaho

Instant horse racing betting machines are officially illegal in Idaho.

The Secretary of State certified the law banning the machines Friday morning. This comes after the Idaho Supreme Court’s decision saying the state must enforce the ban.

Some fear this ban could be the end of live horse racing.

“We encourage people to come out Sunday,” said Parks and Rec Director Greg Weitzel. “It may just be the last race that will be held at Sandy Downs. We hope that’s not the case.”
