Bank gives Pocatello Zoo grant

The Pocatello Zoo was given a $5,000 check by the US Bank which will help fund an outreach program for first and second graders.

With the money given the students will have the chance to take field trips to the zoo.

The zoo is going to take a hands-on approach to teaching students about animals.

Mayor Brian Blad believes the donation will make a difference.

“School district budgets are being cut all the time something that gets cut first is probably the most important stuff that kids learn and that the zoo happens to be one of the field trips to the zoo’s. This gives us the opportunity to continue that program,” said Blad.

This year the US Bank has donated 260,000 worth of grants to different programs throughout southeast Idaho.
