Ammon condo fire investigated

Fire destroyed an condo unit in the Pheasant Estates complex in the 1400 block of Falcon, early Friday morning.

The Ammon Fire Department was called to the fire at around 12:30 a.m. Friday to find flames shooting through the roof of the building.

Ammon Fire Marshal Keith Banda said firefighters contained most of the fire to that unit, gaining access through apartments on either side of it.

No firefighters were injured and there were no reports of anyone else being hospitalized.

Firemen have conducted multiple searches of the fire scene. No official cause of the blaze has been identified as investigation continues.

Several other agencies were called to assist including the Ucon Fire Department, Shelley Fire District, Jefferson Central Fire District, and an Idaho Falls Fire Department engine and ambulance.

There is no word on a cause yet.
