Pancheri Drive construction wraps up
Construction on Pancheri Drive near Skyline High School is officially complete. Construction started back in June, and to celebrate the completion of the project the Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning.
The newly completed street now has five lanes for traffic,as well as a path for both pedestrians and bicyclists on both sides of the street.
The Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization had identified the area as one that needed to be redone to help deal with traffic problems caused by having multiple schools in the immediate area.
City planners had hoped for the construction to be done by the end of October, as to not interfere too much with school related traffic. Luckily construction on the project wrapped up earlier than hoped.
“It’s a wonderful day, it’s a major milestone for the city, we enjoyed working with the contractor, HK Construction, and the Transportation Department, and the Bonneville Planning Organization,” says Chris Canfield, Assistant Public Works Director. “It’s a good day to be able to get to this point.”
Canfield also said it took a lot of work between the design and construction teams, but they worked together as a team to get it completed.
